As Celtic prepare to face Bodo/Glimt at Parkhead tomorrow, they do so in a fine run of form.
2022 couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for the Hoops with 8 consecutive wins to our name. It’s a run that’s seen us overcome a 6-point deficit to lead the Premiership as well as progress into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.
Many will feel the momentum is with the Hoops due to how confident Ange Postecoglou’s side are at the moment. However, what hasn’t really been covered is the form in which Bodo/Glimt arrive at Parkhead with.

The Norwegian champions haven’t lost a single game in their last 29. 26 of those have been competitive, and they’ve kickstarted their 2022 season with 2 wins and a draw in their pre-season friendly games too.
Indeed, Bodo’s last defeat came all the way back in August. A 2-1 loss to Prishtina in Kosovo was a surprise at the time, but even then Glimt managed to turn that Conference League qualifying tie around in comfortable fashion – winning 2-0 at home in the return leg.
That’s not to say their form has been imperious. 10 of their last 29 matches have ended in stalemates. 8 of them coming on their travels too, suggesting that there could still be a weakness there for Celtic to exploit.
Bodo/Glimt have proven a tough nut to crack for domestic and European teams
In those 29 matches mentioned, Bodo/Glimt have also managed to find the net in 27 of them. So there are reasons to be wary even if they shouldn’t yet be up to speed.
What of course has to be remembered is that Kjetil Knutsen arrives in Scotland with a different side to the one that secured the majority of this impressive run. Several of their top stars have already departed the Norwegian club, with Ola Solbakken the only real attacking threat from last season that’s remained.
But even so, there will be an increased determination to ensure they hang on to their unbeaten run if possible. It’s certainly something they’ll be taking great pride in heading into tomorrow night’s game.

Yet if there’s one team Bodo/Glimt wouldn’t have wanted to come up against when it comes to momentum, it’s Postecoglou’s Celtic. A team that is swatting aside everyone in front of them and is a club risen up from the ashes of failure last season.
If Celtic are able to snap Bodo/Glimt’s unbeaten run, it would certainly be an achievement that deserves to be highlighted. It would only go to show just how much progress Ange is making in Glasgow.
But we’ll see what tomorrow night brings. It’s certainly an intriguing contest, that’s for sure.
