Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou isn’t a complicated man. He says what he feels and feels what he says. So when he was asked about what annoys him most as a coach, he didn’t mince his words.
Postecoglou was a guest on Open Goal over the weekend as part of his media duties upon winning the Scottish Premiership manager of the month award.
One of the best answers came on what he doesn’t tolerate at Lennoxtown, or any other training ground he’s worked at in the past.

Once again, Postecoglou is proving himself to be a man of the people.
He said: “I’m just not happy if people aren’t appreciating the fact that they’re doing what they love. If they’re not coming in here loving every minute of it… I don’t care if you’re playing or not playing.
“I keep telling them ‘When you’re driving into here, whatever you’re feeling, if you’re not feeling on top of the world, have a look at people who are sitting at a bus stop going to a job that they probably absolutely hate, because they have to put food on the table for their kids or family, that’ll give you a perspective.’
“If I see anyone coming in here moping about or complaining, I hate it. I hate whinging and complaining, mate. Y’know what? There’s a solution for everything.”
This is the attitude we want from every player. Increasingly it seems like this may not be the case in modern football with bumper finances and coddling of stars combining to create plenty of sullen, moody players.
It sounds like Postecoglou will not let that mentality seep into the Celtic set-up though, which should bode well for creating a strong team spirit and focused dressing room group.
Postecoglou is making it clear he won’t tolerate dissenters at Lennoxtown and if they mope too much, they could well be shown the door!
