Ange Postecoglou has given his first interview since arriving at the Celtic training centre and it has been greeted warmly by supporters.

Postecoglou arrives with a lot of pressure on his shoulders and a lot of work to do, but he seems to be taking it all in his stride at the moment.

The interview posted by Celtic this morning was recorded yesterday after the 55-year-old landed in Scotland and got his first tour of the facilities at Lennoxtown.

In it he goes over a number of subjects including the benefits of finally meeting people in person rather than Zoom, getting to work ahead of the new season and being impressed with Scotland’s clutch of Celtic stars.

It’s one of the first steps in Celtic fans getting to know the new manager. He’s been much discussed over the last month or so, but we still don’t know much about him, how he handles the press and how he’ll communicate with the support.

These are all crucial aspects of being a Celtic manager, perhaps more so than most other clubs in the world. The level of scrutiny he will be under will be far beyond anything he’s experienced before.

Of course, it’s easy when dealing with club media. They aren’t going to be asking any difficult questions. But it’s great to hear from Postecoglou nonetheless.

He will face a tougher audience tomorrow with a scheduled media event at Celtic Park. Postecoglou and the new CEO Dom McKay will be quizzed by journalists and Celtic fans, before being officially unveiled trackside in front of photographers.

Celtic have given assurances to fan media that questions in media events such as this will not be managed or filtered, so it’ll be very interesting to hear what the pair have to say about the future of the club.

One of the big mysteries that remains is who is coaching staff will be for the season.

For now, supporters are enjoying this latest interview, taking to social media to share their thoughts…

In other news, former Celtic boss Neil Lennon hits back at Leigh Griffiths.
