Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou didn’t sound too concerned about Kyogo Furuhashi in the wake of tonight’s big win over St Mirren, but will be sensible with his Bhoys return.

Kyogo went off with a shoulder injury in the first half and looked in discomfort on his way to the bench. While it may have been more of a precaution than an outright serious issue, Postecoglou wants to get it checked out regardless.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound tonight [19:59], the Celtic boss said: “It’s his shoulder. He had a similar one last year. We’ll just wait and see, we’ll get it scanned.

“He’s a pretty quick healer, I know what he’s like, he’ll probably want to train on Monday – but we’ll wait and see how the scan goes. Obviously, there’s an issue there but I’ll just wait and see.

“Just Kyogo in his nature, there’s no doubt he’ll be pushing to make himself available for next week. We just have to be sensible, there’s a lot of football to be played and we’ll be guided by the best information.”

The Japanese forward has been a sensation this season, scoring 22 goals, so understandably every Celtic supporter will be keeping their fingers crossed for good news from that check-up.

There are two weeks to go until we face Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final and Kyogo would be a big miss if he couldn’t make that one.

However, as Postecoglou points out, nobody works harder to stay in contention to start matches so if it’s at all possible the striker will be involved.

Get better soon Kyogo!
