Celtic have been absolutely relentless in their pursuit of the title this season. Ever since the 2-0 defeat against St Mirren in Paisley, Ange Postecoglou’s men have simply not let up.

But it has been noticed that over the course of the last couple of months, Celtic have not been at their brilliant best.

But even still, they have managed to get results. Ange Postecoglou gave an interesting insight into the reasons why some of our performances have not been at their usual high standards.

Ange said [Daily Record], “We have got an opportunity to (have a special season). We are champions, which is fantastic. There are still four games in the league and we have a cup final to look forward to.

“Why let this opportunity slip to continue to maintain standards? I think the last three or four weeks we have been playing pretty tight in terms of emotionally.

“The boys knew they were close to achieving something special and the closer you get to something like that, it’s human nature that you tighten up a bit. I think that’s been reflected in our football the last three or four weeks.

“But through that time they still work so hard for each other, they are still disciplined, they never lose focus. They just have this real determination. They are winners, mate. They are winners.”

Everyone knows that playing for a team like Celtic has its own kind of pressure. The demands from the fans to win week after week is not something that every player can cope with.

It is of remarkable credit to the team that through that pressure, they have managed to pull off result after result. Ange Postecoglou is clearly proud of his team and so are the whole of the Celtic support.

And if they can top off the season with another treble? Well, they will certainly feel the positive emotion of the Celtic supporters as the fans will remember them as legends.
