Ange Postecoglou is relishing the upcoming set of Celtic fixtures between now and the next international break.

The Bhoys play seven times before players again jet off to feature for their countries. And it all starts with tomorrow’s match against Ross County.

Postecoglou was on media duties this afternoon prior to the official departure of CEO Dominic McKay, so naturally didn’t have anything to say about that.

However, he has plenty to discuss regarding on the field matters.

Speaking to reporters today, the Bhoys boss said [Celtic YouTube]: “In general, it’s about just progressing our football. The first part of the season was okay. We definitely showed some real good parts of our game and some real promise. Ultimately, we fell short in a couple of areas.

“This next block of games gives us the opportunity to progress our football and, with the new players coming in, to hopefully take it to the next level.

“Ross County will be a difficult test. I know our home games have gone well but we still have to work hard to gain superiority. It’s always tricky coming out of an international break. We’ve only had one session with all the players this morning for about an hour after they’ve come from all over the world.

“We’ve got to get their Celtic hats back on. That’ll be the challenge for us.”

It’s certainly an intriguing set of matches. There are away trips to Real Betis, Livingston and Aberdeen to contend with. At home, we’ll see teams as far apart as Bayer Leverkusen and Raith Rovers visit in different competitions.

It’s a huge chance for this Celtic team to prove themselves on multiple fronts, against all levels of opponents.

What we look like coming out of the other end is anyone’s guess, especially when you consider players such as Kyogo Furuhashi and James Forrest are carrying injuries.

Hopefully though it all starts positively tomorrow with the visit of Ross County. Three points are a must.
