Greg Taylor’s former manager at Kilmarnock, Angelo Alessio, expects the player to do well at Celtic. Taylor finally completed a protracted transfer saga to move to the Hoops on transfer deadline day.
His former manager at Rugby has tipped Taylor to succeed, as the player is ‘very professional’.
“He’s very professional”
“I think he will do well at Celtic, he is a good guy and player, he’s very professional” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“He now has a good opportunity to show this.”
Alessio also confirmed that the player was very eager to join the Hoops, and the club had no real choice but to sell him to the Hoops.
“At the end of the market when a player wants to go to a bigger club it’s impossible to keep him.”
Taylor was consistently excellent for Kilmarnock under former manager Steve Clark. He played a key role in helping them to third place in the Premiership last season.
Could make debut against Hamilton
Celtic fans will be keen to see the new Bhoy make his debut for the Hoops. That could happen against Hamilton on Saturday.
However, Taylor may have to bide his time before making his Hoops debut. Boli Bolingoli is the current Hoops left-back, and he deserves to keep his spot in the team after an excellent display against Rangers.
Therefore, he may have to be content with a place on the bench for the Hoops. You would imagine that the player will make his Celtic debut sooner rather than later though. Alessio expects him to do well, but the proof will be on the pitch.
