Ange's boyhood hero Kenny Dalglish makes class final prediction; has noticed something about Celtic
Kenny Dalglish has predicted a “day of celebration” for Celtic at Hampden today as the team prepares to face Hibernian in the Scottish League Cup final.
Dalglish won four Scottish Cup finals and a League Cup final as a Celtic player, as well as a League Cup as a Bhoys manager – so he knows a thing or two about today’s occasion.
The legendary Celt has been left impressed by Ange Postecoglou’s side this season and noticed some particularly impressive traits on Wednesday night against Ross County.
Kenny Dalglish predicts Celtic success vs Hibs today
Now he can’t see anything but a victory today.
Writing in his Sunday Post column [19/12 print edition, Post Match supplement page 9], Dalglish said: “Hibs face an in-form Celtic side, and there appears to be complete unity between the dressing room and manager.
“I was impressed with the attitude, calmness, quality and fighting spirit of the team on Wednesday night when they got their 97th-minute winner at Ross County. So today has all the makings of a really good showpiece occasion.
“If Hibs win, it will be an unbelievable achievement, and their fans can look forward to Sunshine On Leith on the soundsystem at Hampden Park around 5pm.
“But my view is that it will be a day of celebration for Celtic, and they will win their 13th domestic trophy out of the 16 available in the past five years.”
I doubt Postecoglou is reading the Sunday papers, but no doubt he would be buoyed by Dalglish’s verdict.

Let’s hope he can do the Bhoys and Liverpool legend proud today.
