Anthony Ralston made his return to the Celtic starting line-up tonight – and it was like he’d never been away.

The Ange favourite was playing at right-back, while fellow full-back Josip Juranovic played further up the pitch due to attacking injuries.

Ralston put in an excellent display, and stole the headlines with a glorious 97th minute winner.

He rose highest at the back post, showing all the intent in the world, and earning the biggest win of the Ange Postecoglou era so far.

And he might just have had a tweet or two written about him too.

Celtic have achieved a lot in the limited time under Ange so far, but Ralston’s goal gave them the late drama fans have craved all season.

It proved that this team is resilient, and that can only bode well for the future.

Without meaning to go over old ground, it truly is remarkable that Ralston has become such a consistent performer for Celtic in such a short space of time.

He very rarely has bad games anymore, and looks even more assured with every passing game.

His return from injury has been vital too, allowing Juranovic to fill in further up the pitch where we are short on numbers.

When the likes of James Forrest and Jota return to the fold, it will be really interesting to see what Ange does with his full-backs.

A month or so ago, there was a feeling that Ralston would retreat to the bench when Juranovic was fit and able, as harsh as that was on the Scotland cap.

But now it seems like you can’t take Ralston out of this side. Another solution has to be found.

Ralston has gone from an outcast at Celtic, to a player we can’t do without.
