Archie Knox lauds Celtic captain Scott Brown
Former Rangers assistant manager Archie Knox has lauded Celtic captain Scott Brown. Knox believes that Brown is the type of player that the Hoops’ bitter rivals need to in their side.
“Brown has won 19 trophies with Celtic, including nine league titles, which is a remarkable achievement” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
“He’s done very well”
“Brown is a lad who’s really worked hard at his game, and he has that personality to influence guys round about him. He’s done very well at Celtic, and Rangers need someone of that stature.”
Should Brown read Knox’s comments, he will be delighted to hear that he is the kind of player that the Hoops’ bitter rivals need to win the title.
Dragged Hoops to another treble
Brown has been a key man for the Hoops once more this season. He has dragged the Hoops to a third consecutive domestic treble when they haven’t even played that well.
Even when he isn’t at his best in a game Brown has the ability to influence matches through sheer presence alone.
That is why he has been a Hoops mainstay for more than 1o years.
Brown’s career at Celtic is drawing to a close. You have to imagine the recent contract he signed at the club will be his last.
That does not mean that he won’t still be a hugely influential player going forward. Expect Brown to be one of the first names on Neil Lennon’s team-sheet next season.
