The rumours surrounding Kieran Tierney leaving Arsenal to return to Celtic have been dominating the back pages of late.
The January transfer window always springs up plenty of rumours regarding Celtic but with Tierney, this seems to be one that is not going away.
Out of contract at the end of the season, Arsenal decided not to extend Tierney’s contract which means the Scotland defender is free to negotiate a free transfer at the end of the season.
And, it seems, a return to Celtic may well be on Tierney’s mind as the speculation ramps up.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s firm stance on Kieran Tierney Celtic rumours
Mikel Arteta was asked if there was any truth in the rumours linking Tierney with a potential return to Celtic back in December and at the time the Arsenal boss said the Hoops hero was ‘committed’ to the London club.
But with rumours heating up and Tierney well into the last six months of his deal, the Arsenal boss was asked again about a potential Celtic return and the Spaniard was forthright in his answer.
Speaking at Arsenal’s press conference [6m 56s] ahead of the Carabao Cup match against Newcastle, Arteta said, “There is absolutely no news, Kieran is our player.”
Kieran Tierney rumours have caused a ruckus at Celtic
Normally, being linked to a quality player like Tierney would be, and has been, causing a lot of positivity amongst the Celtic fans.

The Parkhead support made their feelings perfectly clear on what they thought about the Arsenal defender returning to Celtic Park this month.
Those feelings were criticised by Brendan Rodgers who said fans singing about Tierney showed ‘disrespect’ to Celtic defender, Greg Taylor.
Adding Tierney to the team would certainly offer the Celtic manager a different option but, clearly, the rumours are having a diverse affect behind the scenes at Parkhead so the sooner these rumours are cleared up, the better.
