Celtic’s rearguard earned them a clean sheet at Pittodrie last night in a momentous win for the Bhoys over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

For large portions, defences were on top and Auston Trusty, alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, helped to tame any threat from Jimmy Thelin’s men on a night where one decisive moment decided where the points were headed.

Combining all elements, the Bhoys were able to come away from a difficult encounter in the North East unscathed, picking up a win that has put them seven points clear of the Dons with a game in hand.

After Celtic’s enormous victory over Aberdeen, Trusty has opened up on why his side are primed to claim points in any such circumstances alongside his relationship with Carter-Vickers.

Speaking live on Sky Sports post-match, Trusty paid tribute to the ‘characteristics’ his side hold in abundance that have helped create a sense of Celtic invincibility in the early portion of the campaign.

He stated: “The team is confident; no matter how long the game goes on, this team is confident we can get the win.

“I think it shows the characteristics of the team, we back ourselves no matter how long it stays at 0-0.”

Later, he added on Carter-Vickers: “We’ve known each other for a good bit now, it’s getting better and better, the chemistry is getting better and there’s more to come.”

Aberdeen hadn’t lost at home in the league this season until last night, which is an indication of how resilient the group in the away dressing room have been no matter the circumstance this season.
