Former Celtic youngster Jackson Irvine has been spotted sporting a classic green and white Hoops strip upon his arrival with the Australian squad ahead of World Cup.

As the domestic club action came to a close this past weekend, players from across the globe will be preparing to meet up with their international squad.

Of course, as we are now all aware by now, this is due to the World Cup in Qatar taking place during the months of November and December.

The Australian national side is one of the first squads that have started to come together as they prepare for a potentially tricky group.

Celtic’s very own Aaron Mooy is part of the Socceroos squad, and the midfielder jetted off to join up with his international teammates on Sunday afternoon.

However, Mooy isn’t the only Scottish Football or Celtic connection to pick from in the squad, with many players having current or previous experience in the Scottish Premiership.

One of which being Jackson Irvine, who currently plays his football with St Pauli in Germany but has also featured for the likes of Kilmarnock, Ross County and Hibernian.

His professional career all kicked off at Parkhead, and after rising through the ranks, the midfielder was able to feature on one occasion for the Hoops first team.

Although things might not have worked out for Irvine as a first-team player at Parkhead, the 49-time capped international clearly still holds an affiliation with the club.

Many Celtic supporters were quick to spot that upon his arrival with the Australian national team, Irvine can be seen sporting a classic Hoops shirt from the 90s.

The strip is also complete with a name featured on the back of another legendary Australian international, in Mark Viduka, who played for the Bhoys between 1998-2000.

Irvine’s Celtic attire was the talk of the video posted on social media as he and his international teammates gear up for the huge occasion in Qatar kicking off next week.

It was certainly great to see a former Celt continuing to wear the green and white Hoops long after he has moved on from Parkhead.

I am sure all the Celtic supporters will be watching Irvine and his teammates closely this World Cup, not only due to the involvement of Aaron Mooy but our current links to Australia as a nation, including current boss Ange Postecoglou.

We wish the Socceroos all the best of luck, and hopefully, by sporting the Hoops, Irvine has brought that luck to the camp based in Doha!
