An Australian media outlet seem pretty convinced that Daniel Arzani is going to make his long-awaited return for Celtic tomorrow.
Neil Lennon takes his refreshed Hoops to Firhill for a tasty looking Scottish Cup tie.
Given the three week break, and our last result against Rangers, many reckon that the Northern Irishman could use the match to blood some new players.
And Australian outlet The World Game reckon that 21-year-old Arzani is ready to end his time on the sidelines by making an impact in the match.
In an “exclusive” they say that “Arzani is poised for a long-awaited return to action” and could even start the match as the Hoops visit the Championship strugglers.
They cite a key factor being that the Aussie didn’t take part in the Development side’s win over Chelsea under-23s in London earlier this week, saying that it is a “major hint” of Arzani’s new place in the reckoning.
Arzani is a genuine option for Celtic this weekend
It may not be as big a surprise as many would think if Arzani was to play tomorrow, even from the start.
We are without Mohamed Elyounoussi and Ryan Christie after all, while Scott Sinclair is no longer at the club and Lewis Morgan is soon to follow.
A lot of the Aussie’s competition has been removed, for whatever reason, over the past month or so and he has galloped up the pecking order as a result.
You feel it’s now or never for the Manchester City man. His two-year loan deal is up at the end of the season and, to have any chance of seeing it extended, he really has to make an impact in the coming weeks and months.
But the winter break gives him, and the likes of Marian Shved and Greg Taylor, a fresh chance.
They can write everything that has gone before off and just focus on what’s to come.
