Neil Lennon has announced his Celtic team to face St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup this afternoon, as per CelticFC.net.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Forster; Bitton, Jullien, Ajer; Brown, Forrest, Christie, McGregor, Taylor; Griffiths, Edouard.

Substitutes – Bain, Bayo, Klimala, Hayes, Rogic, Frimpong, Elhamed.

With the victorious outfit today heading into a national semi-final at Hampden there’s no doubt it’s a huge 90 minutes.

When you factor in that Celtic are looking to bounce back from a European exit on Thursday, it’s a game critical to our forward momentum.

The Bhoys have incredibly won the last 33 cup matches between this competition and the League Cup, with excitement about yet another treble mounting.

Tommy Wright’s side are, however, undefeated since we last played them in January. Recently they’ve won matches against Aberdeen and Motherwell, while also drawing with Rangers at today’s venue.

It’s unlikely anything is going to come easy in today’s knockout tie despite our excellent record at McDiarmid Park.

No surprise then that the manager has named a strong side for the encounter, relying on big performers this season such as Christopher Jullien, Callum McGregor and Odsonne Edouard.

There’s also what appears to be a return to the 3-5-2 formation that has brought success domestically so far in 2020, with Leigh Griffiths partnering his French teammate in the attack.

Excitingly, Ryan Christie also returns to the starting lineup, while Hatem Abd Elhamed is back on the bench after injury.

These fans are pleased with Lennon’s eleven and bench, taking to Twitter this afternoon to share their thoughts…
