Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths, on loan at Dundee, isn’t having a great week and that was compounded today against Rangers.
The forward is in hot water after allegedly kicking a flare into the stands during Dundee’s mid-week clash against St Johnstone. [Daily Record]
Now he appears to have picked up another calf injury after being forced off in the Scottish Premiership against the Ibrox side this afternoon. [BBC, 15:40]
He hobbled off to be replaced by Jason Cummings in the 38th minute after trying his best to get on the scoresheet for the Dees.
Griffiths had a few decent chances against the visitors but couldn’t quite find his way to goal. Rangers are a goal up heading into the interval at the time of publishing.
The striker has had a number of calf problems over the years at Celtic and this latest setback is a further blow to his loan on Tayside. He’s yet to score a goal under ally James McPake.

It was clear that Griffiths’ time had ran out at Celtic, but most people thought he could well be a good option for Dundee this season.
However, now injured and facing a ban, a big turnaround will be needed to get back on track.
