Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain has admitted that the Hoops made too many mistakes in their 2-0 Europa League loss to Valencia.
Bain conceded that the Bhoys had been far too casual in possession when playing the ball out from the back.
Far too casual in possession
“We played out from the back well but just got a bit sloppy at the end of the first half” he told the Daily Record.

” Valencia are a really good side, they are well organised and waited for us to make mistakes. They pounced when we did.”

Bain had no chance with either goal scored by the Spanish side. He can be pleased with a fine first-half save from a Daniel Wass header.
Team seemed to panic
However, as Bain points out he and his team-mates did look poor in possession at times. They seemed to panic when under any pressure.

Despite the poor performance from the team, Bain has done very well since replacing Craig Gordon following the winter break.
The goals he conceded against Valencia were the first in seven games. It seems likely he will continue to be the Hoops number one, continuing against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
It will be interesting to see if Steve Clarke’s side adopt the time tactics Valencia did, putting pressure on the Hoops back-line.
If that is the case, Bain and the rest of the Hoops defence should be more than ready about what to expect.
