Rangers legend Barry Ferguson thinks Celtic will soundly defeat Hibs in Saturday’s cup clash. The pair face off in the League Cup semi-final at Hampden in an all green affair.
Ferguson is backing not just Celtic, but Rangers too to beat the other Edinburgh club, Hearts. The former midfielder thinks the Glasgow duo have the edge over their capital counterparts.
Barry Ferguson thinks Celtic will win against Hibs
The 41-year-old is very up front with his prediction for the two cup semi-finals.

Ferguson believes Celtic are a shoe-in for the first final place up for grabs on Saturday night.
He told PLZ Soccer: “I don’t think the Edinburgh teams have any chance of getting into the final. That’s just the way I feel.
“I think Rangers and Celtic are far too strong for them.

“The midweek games will count, but I don’t see any of the two Edinburgh teams going through into the final.”
Celtic and Rangers are arguably on great runs of form. Both sides won at the weekend despite the Hoops being far more convincing off the back of two impressive European ties.
However, with a full card on Wednesday night, this can all change going into this weekend’s cup semi-finals.
Hoops must be wary of previous matches
Fans will not need to go back too long to know that the Hibs match could be an upset. Paul Heckingbottom’s side managed a respectable draw a few weeks ago at Easter Road.

Anything can happen in a one off cup competition, so Neil Lennon must keep in mind a possible repeat.
Likewise for Rangers, outside of Celtic it’s only Hearts who have managed to take points off them.
Both sides will have the two games in the back of their minds going into the crunch ties at Hampden. However, there are no stopping both sides domestically at the moment so it’s clear to see why Ferguson is so confident.
