Celtic fans have got a lot to look forward to this season as the club currently battles on three fronts in three separate tournaments.

Top of the Scottish Premiership table and unbeaten, it looks like it’s going to take a lot to stop Celtic from retaining their title for the fourth year in a row.

Sitting 15th in the Champions League group stage table, Brendan Rodgers also has Celtic on course to qualify for the play-off places as well.

And next month, Celtic will face Rangers in the League Cup final where both teams can look forward to trying to win the first piece of silverware of the season.

Except Barry Ferguson isn’t looking forward to it. Anything but. Rob McLean fired a series of questions to the former Rangers skipper about the upcoming game when Ferguson admitted that the thought of the tie is a ‘worry’.

Barry Ferguson admits he’s worried about Rangers facing Celtic in League Cup final

Ferguson told The Go Radio Football Show, “He’s [Philippe Clement] got big decisions coming up in the next three or four weeks because it’s a massive three or four weeks for Rangers. You can’t fall any further behind in the league. And obviously, in four weeks time, you’ve got the big one, the Cup final.

McLean: “Do you worry about that game?”

Ferguson: “Yes, but I’m not gonna let myself worry until about three weeks down the line.”

McLean: “Is it a bit early to worry?”

Ferguson: “Yeah, it’s a bit early for me to worry. I just think we need to get a consistent team leading up to that.”

McLean: “Do you think that will happen?”

Ferguson: “I would like to think it may happen. It has to happen because you have to go into this game and win it because you’ve not beaten Celtic for a long time.

McLean: “Is that League Cup final bigger than anything else?”

Ferguson: “You look at the lead up to the cup final. Celtic play Zagreb on Tuesday and Rangers play Tottenham on Thursday at Ibrox.

“For me, there’s only one eye that week and that’s on the cup final.”
