Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has made a very bold prediction about Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. He believes that the Hoops hitman will end up being a better player than former Hoops striker Moussa Dembele.
Ferguson made the prediction on a recent episode of the PLZ Soccer show.
“He will be better”
“I think in time if he keeps progressing the way he is, I think he will be better than Dembele” Ferguson began, before discussing the player’s future with the club.
“And I think Celtic will find it hard to fend off a few bids. I think some big clubs will be looking at him.”
Will Edouard go on to become a better player than Dembele? That is very hard to say at this moment in time. At the moment, it has to said that Edouard has plenty of potential.
However, it should be remembered that Dembele scored goals on a regular basis in the Champions League for the Hoops. As yet, Edouard has not done that for Celtic.
Must prove himself in Champions League
Once Edouard matches what Dembele achieved in the Champions League for Celtic, then it can be declared that he is going to be a better player than Dembele. Since joining the Hoops from PSG for £9 million, he has rarely featured in Europe’s elite club competition.
At the moment though, Dembele should be considered the better player of the two. There is not a lot between the two, though.
Sadly for Celtic, the peak of Edouard’s career may be spent at another club, that is something that he has in common with the former Hoops striker. The Hoops will need to enjoy Edouard for however long he decides to stay at the club.
