It is the morning after the night before for Celtic following their 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
On an evening where nothing went right for Brendan Rodgers’ men, the Bhoys were made to pay for against a superior outfit who showed their class on home soil.
There is no doubt about it, Celtic were handed a lesson in Dortmund. There has been a struggle to avoid deficits turning into routs against the elite in recent years which needs to change if progression from the league phase is to be viable.
Looking at the only minor silver lining, the Bhoys are still well in contention for a place in the knockout playoffs.

Nine points will give Celtic a 69% chance of continuing in the Champions League, so nothing is lost at this point despite the numb feeling supporters are experiencing right now.
Pat Bonner has now had his say on events at Signal Iduna Park and where the landscape lies for the Scottish Premiership champions after a frustrating performance.
Pat Bonner on what was ‘proven’ about Celtic vs Dortmund
Speaking live on Sportsound, BBC pundit Bonner took issue with Celtic’s stylistic approach against the top teams, claiming that it is now ‘proven’ that their possession-heavy style deployed doesn’t work at a level where you face top sides.
He stated: “Reality kicks in. A tough night to forget. Embarrassing, to say the least.
It all comes down to the structure and the way Celtic set up defensively. And the mistakes. The mistakes that were then compounded by the nervousness.
“Don’t forget, Schmeichel must have had about six very good saves. And I didn’t count them all. If you look at the way Celtic play in the league, they will try to win the ball high up the pitch. That mentality is in the players. It was proven tonight that they can not do that against top teams.
“They can take four or five players out of the game with two or three passes, then they are getting at your back four. You have to come up with a different plan or structure to stay in the game.”
Celtic’s recovery mission against Ross County
In the interest of honesty, that was a horror show last night for Celtic. Nothing went right, and there is no other course of action but to move on to preparations for Ross County this weekend in Dingwall.
The Bhoys’ can’t let the Dortmund defeat fester, especially when looking at their fixture run dovetailing from this Sunday to the other side of the international break, as seen below.

Back-to-back clashes against Aberdeen and Atalanta are a mouthwatering prospect, but Celtic will have to be at the top of their game to claim three points on either occasion.
Firstly, coming away from Ross County with a victory and a performance to match is the immediate priority. There is nothing wrong with going down, it is staying down that becomes a problem.
