BBC Scotland will air extended highlights of Henrik Larsson’s final game at Celtic Park on Friday night, the latest of their classic Sportscene programmes broadcast during the ongoing football shutdown.
With the general public restricted in their movements this bank holiday Easter weekend, there won’t be the usual festivities of a Friday night on offer.
Many then will be looking for a bit of entertainment on the telly.
Starting at 19:00 on the BBC Scotland channel, an emotional match at Celtic Park will be the treat for Hoops fans, with Larsson making his bow in front of the home support before leaving and eventually signing for Barcelona.
Larsson was made captain for the occasion against Dundee United, which occurred just a week before his last ever competitive match in the Scottish Cup final, in May 2004.
After the match, the Hoops legend would break down in tears saluting the Celtic faithful before taking part in an emotional post-match interview with the BBC.
Predictably, the striker scored a double to secure a 2-1 win.
All of these moments will be fantastic to rewatch.
Although we haven’t had any real live action to watch for close to a month now, BBC Scotland and BT Sport amongst others have been filling their schedules with classic football content.
Hopefully, we see much more of this kind of thing over the coming weeks and, potentially, months.
