The BBC Sportsound panel were left impressed by Aaron Mooy during Celtic’s 4-1 win over St Johnstone today.
Mooy was a standout performer for Ange Postceoglou’s side this afternoon as he got amongst the goals with a delightful chipped effort in the first-half.
The Bhoys raced into a 3-1 lead before half-time thanks to goals from the Australian midfielder, Kyogo Furuhashi and an own goal from Andrew Considine.

The 32-year-old produced a brilliant pass to put Kyogo through on goal down the right-hand side. With the angle against him, the Japanese forward flashed the ball across the face of goal, which led to Considine putting it in the back of his own net.
And Celtic’s play during the opening 45 minutes left Steven Thompson and Packie Bonner stunned on BBC Sportsound.
Mooy looks unstoppable for Celtic
The former Scotland international heaped praise on Mooy after he linked up with Kyogo on his way for Celtic’s opener.
He said: “The pass from Aaron Mooy into Kyogo is absolutely exceptional – the vision to just slide that into his path.”
On the Australian’s goal later in the half, Thompson added: “It comes from Kyogo dropping short initially and getting turned and that’s what starts the attack. Mooy’s composure to take the touch and then lift it over Matthews, that is just top, top quality football from Celtic.”
Bonner added: “That set-up play from Jota was just quality – bit of space between the back four and the midfield, drifts off to the left-hand side and then when the ball comes, he has the skill and ability to lift it over the defence. Mooy gets into that great position again as that higher midfielder on the left and it was a good finish.
“It’s the movement off the ball that’s almost as impressive as when Celtic have the ball, and when they lose it they hound you in packs and that’s two key attributes, I think. Apart from all the technical ability and so on, adding that to a team – and if all players are willing to do it- it makes it very, very difficult to play against.”

Mooy has been in outstanding form for the Hoops this season, scoring four times and registering six assists in the Scottish Premiership.
The veteran midfielder has returned from the World Cup full of confidence and has carried his impressive form in Qatar into domestic football.
Postecoglou will be delighted with his side’s performance today, especially after St Johnstone pulled a goal back to make things slightly more uncomfortable in the first-half.
Mooy’s moment of real quality to restore Celtic’s two-goal cushion came at the perfect time and they controlled the game after half-time.
David Turnbull produced a drilled effort to round the game off for Celtic, with the win leaving them nine points clear at the top of the table.
The Bhoys are certainly showing no signs of slowing down and up to this point, Postecoglou’s men have consistently produced assured performances in the league.
In other news, Ange Postecoglou isn’t issuing a Celtic transfer ‘warning’ to fans; there is nothing to fear.
