There is absolutely no denying that Celtic lost a major talent the day Ben Doak left Glasgow for Liverpool.

The 17-year-old winger was tipped as being one of the hottest prospects at the club but decided to continue his development in Merseyside under Jurgen Klopp.

Now he rubs shoulders with some of the best players in the world and it seems that he is thriving. Nothing seems to faze him.

The youngster has already made six appearances for the Liverpool senior side which included a cameo in last season’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

But Doak has taken it all in his stride as he explains how the experience he got playing in front of a packed Celtic Park has helped settle his nerves whenever he appears for Liverpool.

Doak said [Liverpool FC], “Obviously I made a few appearances for Celtic before I came here as well so, I’m not used to it, I’ll never be used to it, but I am more used to the big crowds than most lads my age would be and also I’m going out to do what I’ve been doing my full life, so there’s not really any reason to be scared.”

Doak made two appearances for Celtic during his time at the club. His debut was against Dundee United in that thrilling finish that saw Liel Abada net a last-minute winner against The Arabs in February 2021. He featured for 22 minutes that game.

That result made the following fixture take on extra meaning as Celtic took on Rangers in the famous 3-0 Glasgow Derby win at home that sent the Hoops to the top of the table. Doak had a brief three-minute cameo but it was enough to ready him for his new chapter down in England.

The youngster is now flourishing at the EPL and is tipped to become the next big star in England. We wish him nothing but the best and will keep a close eye on how his career will develop over the coming years.
