Benjamin Nygren will have one eye on a Celtic record set by Scott Sinclair that has failed to be beaten since 2017.
Nygren is Celtic’s top goalscorer this season with 16 in all competitions and 13 in the Scottish Premiership.
Despite some criticisms about his all-round game, he is consistently amongst the goals and will want to get that record.
TRUE OR FALSE: BENJAMIN NYGREN WILL SCORE MORE THAN 20 GOALS THIS SEASON FOR CELTIC
Benjamin Nygren nine goals away from beating Scott Sinclair’s record
At the time of writing, the Sweden international is the joint-top scorer in the league alongside Celtic-linked Tawanda Maswanhise.
Those 13 goals mean he has scored more goals than any player in their debut season since Giorgos Giakoumakis, who he is level with right now.
Only Moussa Dembele (17) and Sinclair (21) have scored more goals in their debut season, meaning that in order to come out on top, the 24-year-old will need to score nine more goals.
There are 12 games left of the campaign, meaning that he would need to average slightly less than a goal a game, but it certainly isn’t an impossible situation.

Would Benjamin Nygren breaking the record be a bigger achievement?
In some ways, Nygren breaking the record would be a bigger achievement.
Take nothing away from Giakoumakis, Dembele and Sinclair, as they all did brilliantly, but they all played as forwards.
Who is the most important player in the Celtic squad?
In the current Celtic formation, Nygren plays in a slightly deeper role as a number eight and therefore finds himself in attacking positions on fewer occasions.
That means he has to rely on being a poacher in the box and make the most of fewer chances.
