Benjamin Nygren has claimed that his first season at Celtic has been the ‘best of his career’ despite the struggles as a team.
Nygren joined from Nordsjaelland in the summer and has proved to be an important part of the team, scoring 19 goals in all competitions and outperforming his xG.
The Sweden international has divided opinion amongst the fanbase and the media but the 24-year-old is loving life in Glasgow and has hailed this season as a personal best for himself.

Benjamin Nygren is loving life at Celtic
Speaking to Sportbladet, the midfielder reflected on his first season at Celtic Park and how much he has been enjoying it.
“It has been a really good season for me personally. The best of my career and I feel like I have been given exactly the role I wanted at Celtic,” he said. “I can be creative from my position in midfield, create a lot going forward and individually it has been a good season.
“Team-wise it has been a bit tough, but we hope and believe that we will win the league this year.”

Should Celtic be building their team around Benjamin Nygren?
While Nygren may go missing in games, you can always rely on him to turn up and score a goal from out of nowhere.
His poacher’s instinct has helped rescue points for Celtic several games and at one stage, the Hoops could have been as low as fifth in the table without Nygren’s goals.
The 24-year-old has a knack for finding the back of the net and continuing to use a system that allows that to happen is one worth sticking with, especially if it results in the Hoops being crowned champions.
