Celtic fans may want to tune into BT Sport on Wednesday evening where the semi-final draw for the Betfred Cup will be made.

Neil Lennon’s men still have a Glasgow derby quarter-final against Partick Thistle to navigate, but should they win they will soon know who they will face at Hampden Park in early November.

The draw will be made live on TV after BT’s coverage of the Livingston vs Rangers tie. The winner of that match will be a potential opponent for either Celtic or Thistle, as will Hearts/Aberdeen and Kilmarnock/Hibs.

Celtic have been given a great chance in the Betfred Cup

The draw has worked out pretty favourably for us by the looks of things. Thistle were by far the easiest draw we could’ve got, and to get them at Celtic Park made things that little bit better as well.

Meanwhile, Rangers have to go to a tough venue in Livingston and one of Hearts or Aberdeen will also be eliminated.

Our recent cup record will give Celtic fans hope that no potential shock will be forthcoming in the East End of Glasgow. However you are always wary of lower league opposition coming and having the night of their lives – especially having just appointed a new manager.

Hopefully we can get a few early goals and relax ourselves. These nights can be difficult in front of a half empty stadium and Lennon has previous for the odd calamitous defeat. Hopefully tonight is the complete opposite.
