Celtic’s win over Rangers this afternoon is not only going to be celebrated by the fanbase over Scotland and it seems, now, that there will be some festivities to be enjoyed further afield.

Celtic have fans all over the world and no doubt they will all be raising a glass to Brendan Rodgers for overseeing such a dominant performance against his Glasgow rivals.

However, it is in La Liga where there will be other celebrations as Ollie McBurnie revealed that he will be due a ribbing from one of his Celtic supporting teammates after the Bhoys sealed an emphatic win over Rangers.

Scott McKenna is a ‘big’ Celtic fan

McBurnie plies his trade with Las Palmas in La Liga and now that Celtic has been victorious today, he shared how he planned to have a ‘good bit of banter’ with Celtic supporting teammate, Scott McKenna.

McBurnie told talkSPORT, “I’m a Rangers fan so it should be fun.

“We’ve got a game against Alaves at the weekend but Scott McKenna who plays here who is a big Celtic fan so there will be a good bit of banter here as well.”

At the time of writing, Las Palmas were losing 1-0 to Alaves so I’m sure that when the dust settles on this game, McKenna will take the time to give his Los Amarillos teammate a gentle ribbing.

Celtic look set for a successful season

However, back to Celtic, it does seem like Brendan Rodgers has his team on course for a successful domestic season.

For the fifth game in a row, Rodgers’ Celtic took a two-goal lead into half-time after taking early leads against their opponents.

It took a bit of time to get going against Rangers, but after Daizen Maeda opened the Celtic scoring, it looked like there was always only ever going to be one winner.

And just like McKenna, I am sure there are plenty of other Celtic supporters out there right now giving stick to their Rangers-supporting pals as the five-point lead at this early stage of the season sinks in with both sets of supporters.
