Celtic fans in New York City have released a fantastic new tribute to Billy McNeill.
The greatest ever Celtic captain has been receiving admiration and love from all over the world over the last week. Cesar’s passing leaves Celtic as a club still in mourning, with the tributes still rolling along all over the world.
But one of the freshest releases comes from New York. Irish pub Jack Demsey’s, which is close to the Empire State Building on West 33rd Street, have released a stunning poster of McNeill on their exterior wall.

There’s been something special around the club this week
The way the Celtic family has rallied around McNeill’s passing has been beautiful. From Bertie Auld leading the tribute with Celtic fans on the day of the passing, to the result and nature of the win yesterday – it’s all been a highly emotional week.
This tribute from New York and Jack Demsey’s is certainly an eye-catcher, however. The pub themselves revealed the image along with a promotion for their live football that they were showing yesterday.
It’s unclear as to how long the iconic photo will be up for, or if it even still is. But it was another lovely tribute to Cesar that set up yesterday’s encounter against Kilmarnock nicely.
The day was brimmed with emotion at Celtic Park too. Killie, as predicted, made the game predictably stuffy. But the Hoops managed to find a way through from their current number five Jozo Simunovic. It was a touching moment, and you knew at that stage that it would end up being the winner.
It was the perfect send-off for big Cesar. The poster in New York, however, wasn’t a bad tribute itself.
