Celtic fans will be given one last chance to say farewell to one of their biggest legends. The Evening Times have revealed that former player and manager Billy McNeill’s funeral procession will pass Celtic Park.
The funeral is set to take place on Friday May 3rd,. No doubt crowds of fans will line the streets of Glasgow to pay tribute to one of Celtic’s greatest heroes.
Achievements unlikely to be matched

McNeill’s achievements at Celtic as both player and manager are unlikely to be matched. Winning 13 titles as both player and manager is a record which seems highly unlikely to be equalled.
McNeill’s exploits with Celtic in Europe are also worth highlighting. He captained Celtic to two European Cup Finals, with the immortal Lisbon Lions defeating Inter Milan 2-1 in 1967.

Huge part of Celtic for years
McNeill was a huge part of Celtic for many years. There is even a statute of him outside Celtic Park. Recently he worked as a club ambassador, a move which saw him return in an official capacity to Celtic Park.

Billy McNeill is synonymous with Celtic Football Club. He is one of the most important figures in the club’s long history.
Therefore, it is no surprise that his funeral procession will pass the stadium that he served so well for many years. It is a tribute which he more than deserves.
