Celtic left-back Boli Bolingoli has admitted that the start of his Hoops career didn’t go exactly as expected. The defender, who joined the Hoops from Rapid Vienna in the summer, turned in a series of unorthodox performances after joining the Hoops.
He was dropped from the side which lost to Cluj in the Champions League qualifiers. However, he has regained his place in the Hoops team, and was excellent in the recent 2-0 win over Rangers.
Bolingoli did reveal that there were some struggles at the very start of his Hoops career though.
“It was not easy”

“It was not easy for me to adapt that fast, I also didn’t expect it” he told Celtic TV, as cited by the Daily Record.
He then discussed how his performances have improved after that bumpy start.
“You see it on the pitch how we are progressing every game, getting better and better. If we can help the team like this, hopefully we can only become better.”
Player has become a cult figure amongst support

There is no doubt that Bolingoli has become a bit of a cult figure at Celtic. This was shown this week when official Celtic Twitter accounts changed their name to include Bolingoli’s surname.
Bolingoli will now have a battle on his hands with Greg Taylor to be Celtic’s number one left-back. Should Bolingoli keep up the level of performance that he showed at Ibrox, then he will be fully deserving of a starting place in the team.
