When Celtic take on Aberdeen on the 27th of October, the Hoops will be without one of their key midfielders. Ryan Christie will be serving the second game of his two-match ban for his red card against Livingston.
However, the Pittodrie side will also be missing one of their most important players due to suspension. Lewis Ferguson will not feature as he will also be serving the second game of a two-match ban, for his recent red cars against Hibernian.
Both teams missing a key midfielder
It is hard to say which team will be affected more by the loss. Celtic will be losing a player who has scored 11 goals from midfield this season.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen will be losing a player from the middle of the park, where they are already without a host of players due to injuries. Ferguson has been a mainstay of the Aberdeen side this season, making 15 appearances. He is a player that the Dons will no doubt miss.
Game will be a vital one for the Hoops
The game itself could be a vital one for the Hoops. It will come only three days after the Hoops play Lazio at Celtic Park in the Europa League group stages.
That game could have some impact on the team that is selected by the Hoops boss to play at Pittodrie. Nobody at Celtic will be thinking about the game yet. There are games against Ross County and Lazio to deal with first.
However, Neil Lennon will want the Hoops to return to winning ways on the road. The Hoops have failed to win their last two league games away from home. That can’t really be allowed to continue against Aberdeen.
