A host of stars from around European football have been responding to Mohamed Elyounoussi after he celebrated his recent Celtic hat-trick on social media.

The Norwegian international banged in three class goals during yesterday’s 4-1 win over Motherwell.

Claiming the match ball, he uploaded a class trio of pictures to Instagram celebrating the effort.

Celtic heroes such as Ryan Christie, Hatem Abd Elhamed, Scott Brown and Mikey Johnston all rushed to congratulate the popular attacker.

He also drew a response from former Basel teammate Manuel Akanji, now at Borussia Dortmund, and Norwegian international teammate Omar Elabdellaoui, who is also a former transfer target.

Elabdellaoui is now at Galatasaray but during his Olympiacos days was linked with a move to Celtic Park.

Scottish Daily Mail journalist Stephen McGowan reported in 2019 that he was available for £4m and was willing to take a pay cut to join the Scottish champions.

Obviously, that didn’t pan out but the right-back is clearly keeping a close eye on Elyounoussi’s progress on loan in Scotland.

The Celtic attacker is going from strength to strength this season and the next step is finding a consistency that can help propel the Bhoys back to the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Into double figures for goals already, netting 11, he’s a good candidate to be one of our best players across the season.

Hopefully he has a lot more to celebrate on Instagram after his return from the international break!

In other news, Lennon has backed Elyounoussi strongly despite his recent media dramas.
