As far as footballing legends go, Celtic fans will look to Henrik Larsson but will also recognise Brazilian superstar Ronaldo as one of the all-time greats.

Celtic have also had a number of players fans regard as ‘cult heroes’ during their Parkhead careers. Efe Ambrose, Bobby Petta and Paddy McCourt are three names that spring to mind.

But who would have thought that Brazilian superstar Ronaldo would be naming an ex-Hoops player as one that he remembers in the duration of his career as one who was a ‘really cool guy’.

Celtic cult hero Thomas Gravesen labelled a ‘joke’ by Ronaldo

Thomas Gravesen was a player signed for Celtic by Gordon Strachan from Real Madrid back in 2006.

Making 26 appearances and scoring six goals, Gravesen won a league title at Celtic but it was during his time at Real Madrid that Ronaldo remembers the Danish midfielder as a ‘good guy’.

Ronaldo told Romario TV [33m 18s], ” “There are a lot of them. There was one at Real Madrid who was a joke – [Thomas] Gravesen.

“He was a Danish midfielder. He was a really cool guy, good guy. A little while ago he won a $50 million poker tournament or something.

“But in football, he was very bad, he scored and he beat the hell out of people.”

Thomas Gravesen’s goals for Celtic including two against Rangers

Gravesen was involved in some memorable games for Celtic during his 18-month spell at the club.

Involved in the 1-0 win over Man United at Celtic Park in the Champions League, the hulking midfield star was also part of the team that drew 0-0 with AC Milan that very same season to get the Parkhead club out of the group stages for the first time in their history.

As previously said, Gravesen scored six goals for Celtic so here are the games the big Dane made his mark in the green and white Hoops:
