Brendan Rodgers should be a Celtic legend.
Across his two spells as Celtic manager, Rodgers has won 12 trophies and is one of the most successful managers in the club’s history.
He can add to that if the Bhoys win the Scottish Cup against Aberdeen this weekend, which would be a third Treble in four seasons at Parkhead.
Those are numbers that should have supporters shouting from the rooftops, but, that’s not the case.
Rodgers’ decision to leave for Leicester City in February 2019 and has always left a bitter taste in the mouth of Celtic fans, so much so that his return to Glasgow wasn’t met with too much happiness.
Now, coming to the end of his second season in charge of Rodgers part two, the 52-year-old has discussed his legacy.

Brendan Rodgers always wanted to return to Celtic
Growing up as a Celtic fan, Rodgers never imagined a day he would alienate himself from the fanbase he was brought up around, but did exactly that.
Whatever happens, there will always be corners of the crowd that won’t forget his departure in 2019 and even though the Hoops boss admitted he didn’t want it to end how it did, knew he always wanted to return to Celtic.
Speaking to James McFadden on the BBC, he said: “I never wanted that to be my legacy when I left Celtic. Growing up as a Celtic guy and I had a wonderful spell here so for that to be my story, I never really wanted that.
“I always wanted to come back, I didn’t know when it was going to be.”
McFadden then asked if he genuinely thought a return to Celtic would happen, to which Rodgers said: “I hoped it would, there was never a guarantee.
“I had a very good relationship with the board in my first spell. I always wanted to come back for multiple reasons.”
Brendan Rodgers aiming to continue Hampden Park dominance
Celtic are the favourites for the final at Hampden Park – to nobody’s surprise.
Aberdeen were hammered by Celtic’s reserves a few weeks ago and it bodes well for Rodgers to continue his hot streak in south Glasgow.
| Games | Wins |

In the 14 finals played at Hampden under Rodgers, the Bhoys have won all 14 games.
A special 15th is on the horizon and another party in the sun hopefully awaits.
