Brendan Rodgers has dismissed the idea of Liel Abada leaving Celtic in January despite a tough season for the player.
Abada has had a significant thigh injury to deal with and there’s been significant speculation about his happiness at the Bhoys in the wake of fan displays earlier this season.
He has even been urged to leave the Scottish champions by high-profile figures in Israel, increasing pressure on decisions about his career moving forward. [Daily Record]
However, Rodgers is adamant he is happy and comfortable at Celtic, putting to bed any notion of the player being sold this month.
The Celtic boss said [Sunday Post, 07/01 print edition]: “Liel’s in a very good place now. It was a challenging time for him when he was out, with everything happening in his country, but he is settled and happy here.”

Liel Abada primed to make a big impact at Celtic
Abada is only just getting back to fitness and is in line to play a key role in the team after the current winter break in the Scottish Premiership.
The Israeli winger came on as a substitute in recent matches against Rangers and St Mirren but will be a likely start once Rodgers gets his team back into action.
Abada scored 15 goals in his first season at Celtic and another 13 in his second term. That kind of goal threat could be massive in an extended title race with Rangers, a team he has also had joy against in derbies.
If we see that kind of form from the player over the coming months, all the questions about his future at the Bhoys will be answered.
