Celtic coach, Scott Breddy, leaves the club this week after nine years of service. Breddy was the first-team Strength and Conditioning coach.

Breddy made the announcement on his LinkedIn account and said, “So, after an amazing 9 years working at Celtic Football Club, I’ve made the decision to move onto the next chapter and do my PGDE in Physical Education at University of Strathclyde.

“It’s been an incredible experience that started with an internship in 2014 and led me onto the Academy and then the First Team role & I’d like to thank everyone I have worked alongside throughout this time.

“I wish the club every continued success and I look forward to what the future brings.”

Breddy’s impressive rise at Celtic

Breddy has over ten years of experience in the game. He served an internship at Cardiff City in 2103 where he was part of the Sports Science department. Shortly after that, Liverpool beckoned where he completed another month-long internship before moving onto St Mirren.

He spent four months in The Buddies Sports Science Department before joining Celtic’s staff in 2014. After serving another internship at Paradise for just over a year, he was then hired as the Youth Academy’s Sports Scientist in September 2015.

Breddy was then promoted to the Development Squad in the same role in 2016 where he spent five years. Ange Postecoglou then promoted him to the First Team coaching squad in October 2021 where he served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach.

He now moves onto a new chapter in his career and I am sure he will go with all the best wishes of the club and the Celtic support.
