Brendan Rodgers was keen to bring up the measly Celtic allocation at Tynecastle this weekend as he looked ahead to the match.
In an interview with Celtic TV, you don’t usually expect fan issues like allocations to spring up. Indeed, the question was only based around Rodgers returning to the home of Hearts — a ground where he has fond memories from during his first stint at the club.
The Celtic manager spoke about the game but couldn’t resist making a comment on the dire situation that has seen Hearts give us just 576 tickets for the match.
“It’s always a difficult place to go,” he said. “However, we’ll relish the game. It should be a great atmosphere.
“Sadly again, I don’t think there’s as many tickets for our supporters. So we’ll have to go there with not our same support.
“However, we’ve shown already this season that we can go into venues that are tough venues and get the results that we need.

“We want to go there and perform well.”
When Rodgers used the word “again” he was obviously referring to the fact that we had no fans at Ibrox for the first derby of the season in September. The team found a way to win that day, despite everything seeming to be against us. So they shouldn’t be too fazed by Sunday.
Joe Hart admitted it was sweeter to win the league at Tynecastle last season, given that Hearts only gave us half of their Roseburn Stand. Now that allocation has been cut by another 700 or so seats, you sense it may further fire our squad up.

It’s going to be a tasty game. It always is in Gorgie. What a cracking way to get right back into things after the international break.
