Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been discussing the status of Callum McGregor after the midfielder missed last week’s match against Hearts.
The Bhoys captain missed out on the Tynecastle defeat with a suspected calf/Achilles injury and was sent for a scan to determine the cause of the issue.
Unfortunately, Rodgers reckons that the scan was somewhat inconclusive and McGregor remains on a timeline that will keep him out until after the international break.
Callum McGregor out for weeks at Celtic
Asked for an update, the Bhoys boss said [Celtic FC YouTube]: “Yeah, it was inconclusive really. We had it in our mind anyway he would miss through until the international break and then take it from there.
“He travelled for the scan but nothing was really shown up on that. We’ll assess it over the next couple of weeks.
“We just have to see how that feels on a day-to-day basis, really.”

Luis Palma is a doubt for Celtic vs Livingston
Meanwhile, Rodgers also stated in his media conference that winger Luis Palma has picked up a knock and may not feature against Livingston in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
The Honduran has made 23 appearances for Celtic this season, scoring six goals and assisting nine more.
However, he’s found himself on the substitutes bench in recent weeks and was unused during last weekend’s trip to Hearts.
Hyunjun Yang is also missing because of suspension, meaning winter signing Nicolas Kuhn could get another opportunity to impress this weekend.
Daizen Maeda will likely start, too, while Kyogo Furuhashi could even come into the team in a wide berth to support striker Adam Idah.
