Brendan Rodgers has reminded Adam Idah that there is a fine line between success and failure at Celtic.
Idah has made a big impact at the Bhoys since arriving on loan at the end of the winter transfer window, assisting an equaliser against Aberdeen as well as netting a winning double against Hibernian.
However, Rodgers has urged the Republic of Ireland international not to let the fast start go to his head, taking him aside at Lennoxtown this week for a chat.
Brendan Rodgers on Adam Idah chats
The Celtic boss said [The Herald]: “I spoke to him on Friday morning and told him he’s had a great start, well done. But always remember this is a game where a pat on the back is only about 10 inches from a slap on the behind!
“One clever guy told me once that success has many fathers. When you are succeeding, everyone is there for you. When you fail, you are an orphan. If you want to succeed, it’s that humility which keeps you there along with that consistency.
“So well done, you’ve scored two goals in your first start – two big pressure goals with everything involved – but don’t get too carried away.
“It helps if you come into a team with experienced players but it’s important for him that he knows the demands here. his is a club where you need to win and as a number nine here, it’s about scoring goals. He knows he will be idolised here if he can do that. That’s his ambition.”

Rodgers is putting a lot of faith into Idah and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in the starting line-up again for Sunday’s trip to St Mirren in the Scottish Cup.
Whether that’s with or without Kyogo Furuhashi in the team remains to be seen. Kyogo is still the main man at the Bhoys but amidst disappointing form, having a confident option in Idah would help Celtic through this period.
The manager is certainly talking him up, so expect him to be a go-to option over the next few weeks.
