Celtic are in a fantastic position at the start of the 2024/25 season, having started the campaign perfectly in multiple competitions.

Brendan Rodgers’ squad have won their first five matches, most recently in a high-stakes derby at home to Rangers at Celtic Park.

The three goals scored on Sunday mean that the Bhoys have now netted 15 in total over the last month, conceding just one in the other direction.

There are tougher tests ahead, of course, but what we’re seeing from the team right now is comparable to the most celebrated Celtic outfits of the last decade.

Brendan Rodgers desires more ‘unity’ at Celtic

The manager is delighted with the way things are panning out.

Asked if he had a message to fans during the first international break in a new interview on Celtic TV, Rodgers said: “I hope you feel excited by watching the team. We are certainly feeling the support from the guys in the stands and the millions of people around the world.

“I’ve always said, this strength and this unity is the power of Celtic. The message is just to keep this good feeling.

“We stay with each other and we now can look forward to a really positive period. We’ll be doing everything we can here to keep the supporters excited with our performance.”

Upcoming Celtic schedule ramps up quickly in intensity

Celtic will no longer have the luxury of simply playing a single match each week moving forward. The schedule after the international break immediately moves to a weekend and mid-week fixture, with the opponents getting more difficult along the way, too.

The next six games will test the squad’s quality and depth before another international break in mid-October.

Rodgers is clearly hopeful about the team’s prospects. There’s every reason to be. If we can all stay on this path then giant strides can be taken at home and abroad that sets up a potentially special season on all fronts.
