Celtic’s win over St Mirren opened up a significant gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership again as Brendan Rodgers continues his relentless defence of the title.

St Mirren suffered a defeat at Celtic Park after a double from Nicolas Kuhn complimented Auston Trusty’s first Hoops goal as the Parkhead club banished the Glasgow Derby New Year blues

Speaking after the game, Brendan Rodgers not only fired shots at the Celtic fans, the Hoops boss also talked up one Parkhead hero and delivered a warning to their opponents about the player who is he wants to keep on improving this season.

Brendan Rodgers hypes up Nicolas Kuhn with warning to Celtic’s opponents

Rodgers told Celtic TV [12m 14s], “He’s got to get on with it. He’s toughing up. He got a bang on the nose, it’s going to happen in the game, especially a big game.

“Get on with it and he did that today. He was very good with great speed for the first goal and persistence for his second.

“So he’s a player that’s improving. He’s still got more improvement for me that needs to come but from where he was at when he first came in to now he’s been a really consistent performer.

“So I’m really pleased with that.”

Nicolas Kuhn’s frightening Celtic record this season

Kuhn has looked a different player this season to the one that joined Celtic in January of last year and it is showing on the pitch.
