Brendan Rodgers is hoping to add new faces to his Celtic squad before the transfer deadline day ends.
The Celtic manager has made no secret of the fact that he wants to strengthen his team this month and has added only Jota to his Hoops squad after the Portuguese winger joined from Rennes.
Celtic have seen a number of players leave the club on loan after the likes of Stephen Welsh, Odin Thiago Holm, Luis Palma and Kyogo Furuhashi all made their Hoops exit in January.
Speaking after Celtic beat Motherwell at Fir Park, Brendan Rodgers told the fans what the club’s plan is as the Glasgow giants head into the final day of the transfer window.

Celtic doing ‘lots of work’ behind the scenes to add players on transfer deadline day
Rodgers was asked at full-time inside Fir Park if there were plans to add extra bodies to his Celtic first-team squad before the window slammed shut at 11pm tonight.
Rodgers told Sky Sports, “Well that is our plan. Lots of work going on behind the scenes in order to do that.
“So, we’re hopeful that we can. We want to have the strongest squad we possibly can. We’ve lost a couple of players that are important for our squad, but also we’ve players who have gone out on loan.
“So we know we want to get into the market to have the strongest squad we can to finish off the season.”
Brendan Rodgers wants to ‘improve the squad’ as Celtic heads into transfer deadline day
The Hoops boss was then asked how difficult it is to get players in at this stage of the window Rodgers said, “It always is, but I always think there’s good players available in January.
“There’s always a mentality around you can’t get good players, but if there is availability and we can afford it, then I would like to think that we could do that.
“My concentration has just been on the games, and we’ll see where we’re at, by tomorrow evening. And we want to as a club improve the squad and hopefully we can do that over the next 24 hours or something.”
Celtic’s financial muscle should help Rodgers’ cause when looking to complete any last-minute deals today.
However, with clubs knowing that Celtic are looking to replace Kyogo on the final day of the transfer window, that could work against the Hoops boss and that could see valuations of Rodgers’ targets moving north of what they normally would be.
