Brendan Rodgers thinks rivals Rangers are a better team with their two new signings.
The Celtic manager believes that the Light Blues have ‘improved’ their squad with the acquisition of Jermaine Defoe and Steven Davis.
The two new Gers men arrive on-loan from the English Premier League.
The Northern Irishmen even went as far to say he tried to sign fellow countryman Davis.
Rangers are on the up with signings claims Rodgers
Rodgers claims to have been a fan of the two signings since their big moves to the Premier league.

Now, the double treble winning manager believes they will replicate their success in Scotland.
He told the Daily Record: “I’ve only seen a bit of that, but I’m sure those two boys will improve their squad.
“He [Defoe] is at the age where he wants to play, I’m sure he’s coming up to play.

“There’s no doubt that he’s a proven goalscorer and obviously he’s still very hungry to do well.”
Rodgers compares Davis to Callum McGregor
Whilst gaffer of the Welsh side, Rodgers was sniffing around Rangers to bring Davis south.
Now a seasoned English Premier League player, the Celtic manager compared him to a current Hoops star.
He said: “For me he’s a very, very underrated footballer. He’s a Callum McGregor type. He keeps the game simple, passes, moves, can orchestrate the game.”
However, this is a different player coming back up than the one who left.

The Northern Ireland international is now much older and has played little club football recently with Southampton.
However, he will get a greater opportunity with the Ibrox side.
Ironically, McGregor will come up against Davis directly in the centre of the park.
The Celtic man has the legs and technical advantage over Davis while the latter has more experience at a high level.
It will be an interesting battle, but from a Celtic point of view, let’s hope our man comes out on top.
