Brendan Rodgers was first choice to be Spurs manager according to latest reports.
The Daily Mail say chairman Daniel Levy enquired into the former Celtic boss for a month. Scottish news outlets were also quick to link the Irishman to the job after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking.
However, out of nowhere, Jose Mourinho went in under the radar to become the manager.
Newspaper linking possible Brendan Rodgers move to Spurs
When Rodgers left the Hoops in February, it was on very controversial circumstances.

The Celtic faithful warned the jubilant Foxes fans that he would do the same to them in future. Nobody could have imagined it could possibly have been as quick as the potential Spurs move.
The Daily Mail say that Spurs were sourcing the Hoops invincible treble winner for a year but were rebuffed. They say Spurs had been planning Pochettino’s departure since then and began putting plans in motion.
Get French Football reported last month that Mourinho had chosen another club which puts a question on the Rodgers news.

Nevertheless, it will be Mourinho in the Spurs dugout for the foreseeable future.
Rodgers, though, is dodging a bullet by not making the journey to North London and is best staying put.
