The latest brilliant initiative from Celtic FC Foundation was announced this week with the unveiling of their ‘Paradise Pit Stop’ project.

As you’ll know, the Foundation does incredible work on a regular basis to help the most disadvantaged in society, from wide-ranging Christmas Appeals to engaging with refugees or supporting households that struggle to pay increasing energy bills.

The latest endeavour looks to provide those who need it a consistent and reliable space to congregate, socialise and be provided with a free warm meal as well as hot or soft drinks.

Designed for all demographic groups across society, including families with children, it’s hoped that those enduring the current cost of living crisis can enjoy a place of respite.

The project launches on Monday, January 30th and will see the doors at Celtic Park opened every Monday and Thursday night between 5pm and 7pm.

Foundation and club volunteers will be on hand to welcome those who attend, with activities and areas for children provided.

Celtic FC Foundation’s Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said [CelticFC.com]: “We recognise that many people are going through challenging times just now and that even being in employment doesn’t necessarily negate this.

“For many it’s a struggle to pay the household bills with anything left over, so we really hope that people in and out of work who could benefit from coming along take the opportunity to do so.”

Club Chief Executive, Michael Nicholson, added: “The club is delighted to support our Foundation’s activities in this area, as we continue to try to find ways to support people in need, in line with the ethos and founding principles of the club. We hope that this project will make a positive difference in our community.”

More information on the open evenings can be found via the Foundation, with the entrance found at the North East area of the stadium.
