Broadcasters BT Sport have posted a brilliant video tribute to Celtic captain Scott Brown, which is going down well with supporters.
We are on the eve of Brown’s last match ever in Celtic colours.
The long-serving midfielder is off to Aberdeen and the occasion at Easter Road is sure to be an emotional one for him.
We’ve seen many tributes to Brown over the last couple of weeks. BT Sport’s still hits the mark though, published to their 1.1m followers and featuring a number of Celtic fans and some excellent highlights of his time at the club.
Chris Sutton was a big fan of it too, sending his own message of support to the captain in promotion of the video, which read: “Scott Brown has been an outstanding servant to Celtic. He is a legend. 22 major honours is quite something.”
Some will argue that the last week has been a bit over the top in terms of sentimentality towards Brown.
For me, it’s warranted. There’s nothing wrong with sentiment and who has given more to the club over the last 14 years than our departing captain?
He’s been outstanding and helped the club be tremendously successful.
Aberdeen will be getting a committed professional at the very least, but potentially a talented coach as well.
I can’t wait to see how the next stage of his career goes.
