Broadcasters BT Sport are running a social media tournament to determine the greatest club side of the last century and Celtic’s famous Lisbon Lions are, naturally, contenders.
Jock Stein’s Bhoys became the first club in Britain to lift the European cup in 1967, famously beating Inter Milan 2-1 with a swashbuckling, attacking display in the face of defensive pragmatism.
Ushering in a new era of European football, the Lions have been celebrated for decades and now find themselves going up against some of the most famous assembled sides in history.
From Arsenal’s 2003/04 invincibles, Juventus’ imperious outfit from the 90s or Pep Guardiola’s famous side at Barcelona, competition is fierce.
However, Celtic supporters can tip the scales with their own voting.
The Lisbon Lions have initially been drawn against Nottingham Forest’s legendary all-conquering side from the late 1970s in the first round, with close to 23,000 votes already being cast on who should progress at the time of publishing.
Get stuck in with your own verdict below.

As you may have seen, Celtic are currently well ahead in the voting, with the genius of the Lions being appropriately recognised right now, even up against Brian Clough’s extraordinary team.
Hopefully, the Celtic greats eventually progress, where they are due to take on AC Milan’s 1988 to 1990 legends. Like Forest, the Italians won back-to-back European Cups.
Clearly all of this means little and is just a bit of fun, but it could be an entertaining distraction as everyone comes to grips with spending the majority of time indoors.
