Celtic’s Oliver Burke has revealed the big aim he has between now and the end of the season. He wants to help the Hoops to a league and cup double.

The Bhoys are eight points clear in the league table and face Hibernian in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. Burke, who joined the Hoops on loan from West Brom in January, claims it would be a ‘dream’ to help the Hoops wins silver wear.

“Definitely, it would be a dream for me. We focus on the league now and it is foot on the gas. We won’t stop now and it’s an amazing position for me” he told the Daily Record.

A note of caution

He then sounded a note of caution about thinking too far into the future.

“We are doing very well at the moment in domestic football, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves.”

Burke has yet to win a trophy in his career, so it is understandable how excited he seems at the prospect of possibly winning two at Celtic.

However, he is right to be cautious. The Hoops have some tough games to navigate before they can talk about winning any trophies.

Tough matches ahead

The upcoming league matches against Motherwell and Hearts and the Scottish Cup game with Hibs will provide a stern test for the Bhoys.

Should all three be navigated successfully, then Burke has a real chance of returning to West Brom in the summer with two winners medals.
