Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has explained an incident which occurred following Scotland’s embarrassing 3-0 loss to Kazakhstan on Thursday night.
The Hoops player seem to argue with Scotland coach James McFadden after the game. However, he has played down the incident.
“Nothing personal”

“It was just frustration, it was nothing personal,” he told the Evening Times.
He went on to reveal that he was trying to get the players to applaud the fans that had remained in the stadium after the game.

“I didn’t even shout to James. It was nothing to do with James, I was just trying to get everyone together to go to the fans.”
Good display of captaincy

That is good captaincy from the player, who was given the armband on the night. That will please Hoops interim manager Neil Lennon, who no doubt looked on shell shocked at how poor Scotland were.
Therefore, there has to be a worry from Lennon and all at Celtic that McGregor’s domestic form will be affected by Scotland’s poor showing.
The player will be in action again for Scotland against San Marino on Sunday. Therefore, the Hoops boss will be hopeful that McGregor avoids injury, and returns fit for the Hoops’ Glasgow derby against Rangers next Sunday.
Taking into account Kieran Tierney’s reported injury issues, the last thing the Hoops need is another injury blow.
